Orange Fire Victims Identified As 2 Little Girls

ORANGE, Mass. (AP) — The two children killed in a house fire in Orange last weekend have been identified.

The Northwestern district attorney's office said Monday that the victims of Saturday's blaze are presumed to be 6-year-old Leena Shea Ciolino and 8-year-old Victoria Rose Gaignard. The medical examiner's office will make a final determination.

Leena, a first-grader, lived in the home, while Victoria, a second-grader, was visiting.

Leena's father, Vinny Ciolino, who was severely burned trying to rescue the girls who were trapped on the second floor, remained in the hospital Monday in critical condition.

School Superintendent Tari Thomas says counselors will be available at the girls' school all week.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
