Curt Schilling: Hillary Clinton 'Should Be Buried Under A Jail Somewhere'

BOSTON (CBS) -- Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling is by nature an outspoken individual who is known for his political takes as much for his bloody sock game. With the 2016 Presidential Election race heating up, the time is ripe for Schilling to express his inherently polarizing opinions.

Schilling's first incendiary remarks came Tuesday afternoon on 610 Sports Radio in Kansas City when he talked about likely Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump with hosts Danny Parkins and Carrington Harrison. The Big Lead caught wind of the comments and posted them not long after the interview happened.

Schilling, a registered Independent, is not a fan of either candidate, or either major political party - but his strongest words came for Mrs. Clinton.

"If [Clinton is] allowed to get to the general election before she's in prison I'll be stunned and upset," said Schilling. When asked whether she will go to prison for her involvement in an email scandal, he said he hopes she does - but even that isn't enough.

"If I'm gonna believe, and I don't have any reason not to believe, that she gave classified information on hundreds if not thousands of emails on a public server after what happened to General Petraeus, she should be buried under a jail somewhere."

His comments about Trump were less aggressive, but he criticized the favorite to land the Republican nomination for making empty promises and offering no actual solutions for what would "Make America Great Again" or how exactly he plans to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it. However, saying Clinton should be "buried under a jail" could be seen as Trump-esque.

You can listen to the full interview below. The politics talk begins around the 28-minute mark.
