Celtics' Isaiah Thomas Has A Media Beef

BOSTON (CBS) --- Isaiah Thomas isn't very happy with some members of the Boston media.

Gary Tanguay and Greg Dickerson of Comcast SportsNet New England have earned the ire of Thomas after doubting his role as a franchise player to build around. According to Tanguay and Dickerson, height will prevent Thomas from ever being that type of player. The Celtics guard didn't take kindly to that.

"That guy is funny," Thomas said. "The funny thing about it, he's going back on everything he's saying because he knows he's wrong. I mean, I don't know him but he's got some bad rap on social media, so that says a lot about him. But I mean, it is what it is. I told you, they'll find something to say."

When asked if he had been invited on the show with Tanguay, Thomas said, "Yeah, because he knows he's wrong. I mean, everybody's on his head. He knows he's not right. But I would never go on his show. I don't even know his name."

Zolak & Bertrand debated whether or not Thomas is taking the conversation too seriously.

Bertrand believes that there was no ill-will from Tanguay or Dickerson, rather that they were simply relaying a widely held opinion.

"The point of the conversation was he's not a superstar, he's not a guy you build around," said Bertrand. "Anyone who's talked about the Celtics in the last year has said these things.

"That's not a mean-spirited conversation. They're not attacking Isaiah Thomas."

Still, Bertrand and Zolak agreed that it could be good for Thomas to take the criticism as motivation. Pretending not to know Gary Tanguay's name just might be a bit of a stretch.
