Fall River Man Killed During Rollover On I-195 In Somerset

SOMERSET (CBS) – A Fall River man was killed when he swerved to avoid debris on a Somerset interstate and his SUV rolled over.

Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash on Interstate 195 near Exit 4 just after 10 a.m.

Initial investigation indicates that 55-year-old Philip Imprescia was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer and swerved to avoid debris in the right lane, but rolled over.

State Police say Imprescia was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.

His SUV could be seen on its roof with several pieces of debris nearby.

The left travel lane remained open to traffic, though the right and middle lanes remained closed for several hours until they were reopened after 1 p.m.

About two minutes after the initial crash, two cars were involved in an unrelated accident.

One person was brought to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
