Car Break-In Suspect Caught On Surveillance Video In Medway
MEDWAY (CBS) -- Police captured surveillance footage of a suspect in a series of thefts from cars that took place over the weekend in Medway, Medfield, and Millis. The footage was posted on the Medway Police Department's Facebook page Sunday.
The footage, captured Saturday afternoon at Choate Park, shows a black, newer-model Nissan Pathfinder pulling up to a parked car. A man gets out of the passenger side of the Pathfinder, looks into the window of the parked car, opens the door, and steals an object before getting back in the Pathfinder and being driven away.
The Pathfinder has no front plate, and police said it is most likely registered out of state.
Medway Police said the people in the Pathfinder are suspected in several other vehicular break-ins in Medway, Medfield, and Millis on Saturday, as well as other recent break-ins in nearby towns. Four of the break-ins occurred in Medway between 4 and 5 p.m. Saturday in Choate Park and at Medway Commons.
Police said the suspects are stealing bags, purses, and wallets, and in some cases are smashing windows. Medway police said several iPhones that were stolen were returned to their owners after the thieves threw them from their car.
Anyone who finds personal items on or near the road, or who has any information about the suspects, is being asked to contact Medway police.
