Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Opening Shops In N.H., Maine

BOSTON (CBS) -- More Krispy Kreme Doughnuts locations are coming to New England.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc., announced plans Monday to open four shops in New Hampshire and three in Maine--but Dunkin' Donuts shouldn't panic quite yet, as the company said the stores will be opening "over the next several years."

"The demand for Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee continues to grow throughout New England, so we are very happy to bring this iconic brand to New Hampshire and Maine," said Patricia Perry, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts' Vice President, Global Franchise Development, in a press release.

The company is partnering with NH Glazed, LLC owner Cort Mendez, who said the chain's doughnuts and coffee already have a strong following in the northern New England states.

There are nearly 300 Krispy Kreme doughnut shops in 41 states.
