Woburn Hit And Run Suspect Arrested

WOBURN (CBS) - It was a game of cat and mouse for about 24 hours, but police finally caught up with 29-year-old Tyson Delgado in Dorchester, hiding under a bed in a relative's home.

Delgado was wanted for larceny, assault and battery and leaving the scene of an accident after causing serious personal injury.

Police say stunning surveillance video shows Delgado striking a pedestrian in Woburn Wednesday, and allegedly dragging 65-year-old Fred Pica on the hood of his car for several hundred yards.

"This is a disturbing incident involving a career criminal who showed reckless disregard for the safety of those around him," said Woburn mayor Scott Galvin.

Pica suffered a broken foot when the windshield wiper he was holding onto broke off and he finally fell. Police say Delgado is a career criminal with a violent history but on Thursday he gave up.

"The arrest was uneventful. He was cooperative on Wilcock Street in Dorchester," said Woburn Police Captain Robert Rufo.

Police had canvassed the area for hours on Wednesday and it was cooperating witnesses who finally led them to Boston.
