Northboro Middle School Students Targeted By Inappropriate Instagram Account

NORTHBORO (CBS) – Police are warning Northboro students about social media use after an Instagram user subjected middle school age students to inappropriate pictures.

Northboro Police said they took a report on Tuesday of suspicious Instagram activity.

An unknown person requested to follow "many local children" on the photo sharing app, police said.

When students accepted the request, they found pictures police described as "inappropriate."

Police asked parents to speak with their children about social media use, recommending that students do not add friends online who they do not recognize.

For more tips on protecting children online, Northboro Police suggest parents visit the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children website.
