Boston-San Diego Flight Diverted To Denver Due To Unruly Passenger

BOSTON (CBS) -- An Alaska Airlines plane travelling from Boston to San Diego was forced to make a landing in Denver due to an unruly passenger Tuesday night.

Alaska Airlines told WBZ-TV the passenger was intoxicated, and they made several attempts to calm him down. When he threatened another passenger, the pilot made the decision to land at the nearest airport, where the man was arrested and removed from the flight.

A passenger on the plane posted video of police arresting the man once the plane landed in Denver:

One passenger said tensions were high.

"Everybody, I think their senses are slightly heightened," said one man who was on the flight.

"I was trying to think what I should do," said another man who was on the plane. "The best I could come up with was to put my foot out and trip him if he came up forward."

The plane took off after the man was removed, and landed safely in San Diego overnight.
