Ben & Jerry's Introduces Non-Dairy Dessert Flavors

BURLINGTON, Vt. (CBS) – There's good news for vegans and anyone else who goes without dairy in their diet – you can now indulge in a pint of Ben & Jerry's.

The Vermont ice cream maker says that after a year of research and development, it's finally rolling out non-dairy desserts containing zero animal products.

The new creations made with almond milk are Chunky Monkey, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Coffee Caramel Fudge and P.B. and Cookies.

A Change.org petition urging Ben & Jerry's to offer non-dairy products received nearly 30,000 online signatures. Ben & Jerry's says it has long heard from fans clamoring for non-dairy options because they either live a vegan lifestyle or can't tolerate dairy.

Forbes reports that the non-dairy treats will sell for about $5.69 a pint in stores.
