Critically Injured 3-Year-Old Boy Remains At Boston Medical Center

BOSTON (CBS) -- A three-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Sunday night with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Boston Police responded to a home on Alpine Street in Roxbury around 9:40 p.m. The boy was rushed by ambulance to Boston Medical Center.

The cause and nature of the child's injuries are still being investigated. Investigators remained at the house overnight, and they could still be seen there on Monday afternoon.

Neighbors say they are shocked by the news.

Bette Toney, president of the Neighborhood Association, lives across the street from the boy.

"Any time any child is traumatized or victimized, it's extremely concerning," she told WBZ-TV's Chantee Lans.

No additional information was immediately available.
