Weymouth Officials Investigate Firefighter's Controversial Post Against Narcan, Addicts

WEYMOUTH (CBS) -- Town officials are investigating a controversial Facebook post allegedly made by a Weymouth firefighter.

The first responder was calling out the use of Narcan, a drug used to save the lives of people who overdose on heroin.

The post read, in part, "I for one get no extra money for giving Narcan and these losers are out of the hospital and using again in hours. you use -- you should lose."

The post sparked a wide response by people online and by local residents.

The post has been taken down but the Weymouth fire department and the Mayor's office are looking into the incident.

"The comments posted do not reflect the philosophy or values we hold as a fire department or town," Weymouth's fire chief Keith Stark  told WBZ-TV.
