Clinton, Sanders Supporters Stump For Their Candidates In Manchester, NH

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- While the Democratic presidential candidates prepare for the Iowa Caucuses, grassroots politics are underway in New Hampshire this weekend.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh spent part of his day in Manchester pounding the pavement in support of Hillary Clinton.

"It really is big push and New Hampshire is a big state for the primary and the Democrats, and we are up here supporting Hillary Clinton," he says.

Right now, Clinton is in damage control over new information about the private email server she used as secretary of state.

Walsh says its definitely something she will have to address in the race for the White House.

"I don't think you can run from it. You have to address it head-on, and the American people understand that if someone admits to their mistake, they are very forgiving," he says.

At the Bernie Sanders camp in Manchester, supporters are not wasting any time. Desmond Cadogan came all the way from New York to help his candidate.

"We are going to out and canvass and talk to undecided voters and get out the vote for the primary," he said. "The most effective way is knocking on the door and having conversations with people and answering questions."
