Clerk Pistol-Whipped During Everett Armed Robbery

EVERETT (CBS) -- A clerk was pistol-whipped during an armed robbery at an Everett convenience store on Monday morning, police said.

Police officers were called to the Tedeschi Food Shop on Broadway, according to the Everett Police Facebook page.

The clerk told police two black men entered the store and demanded money. One man struck the clerk, and took an undisclosed amount of cash before both ran out of the store.

Surveillance images show both men wearing dark-colored winter jackets, and the one who allegedly assaulted the clerk also was wearing a dark-and-light-colored snow hat. The other man could be seen wearing a heavy winter coat.

After suffering a head wound, the clerk was taken by ambulance to Whidden Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A BB gun possibly used during the robbery was found on Summer Street after the incident, police say.

No arrests have been made.
