Boston Mayor Launches Site To Report Problem Roads, Intersections
BOSTON (AP) — Mayor Marty Walsh is launching an interactive website where people can mark off problem roadways and intersections as his administration looks to make Boston roads safer.
The "Vision Zero Boston Safety Concerns" map was launched Friday as part of Walsh's effort to significantly cut down on bike-and-pedestrian-related accidents by 2030.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to use the map to mark off places where there's low visibility, where cars tend to speed or run red lights and where people often jaywalk, among other things.
The administration says public input will help determine street design and other priorities. It says the map isn't meant to be a substitute for Boston's new 311 number, which is used to report non-emergency issues like broken street lights.
