Zdeno Chara Visits Denna Laing In Hospital

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Bruins have been at the forefront to help injured hockey player Denna Laing, and on Wednesday she got a special visit from the team's captain.

Zdeno Chara visited Laing at Mass General Hospital, and had a special gift for the Boston Pride player. Chara brought her a special pair of Bruins high heels to add to her collection.

Laing suffered a severe spinal cord injury during the Women's Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium on New Year's Eve, and has limited feeling in her arms and no feeling in her legs, according to her family.

The Boston Bruins have done a lot for Laing since her injury, donating $200,000 to the Denna Laing Foundation last week. Patrice Bergeron is also auctioning off his personal suite for a game later this season to benefit the foundation, and the Bruins and Canadiens are auctioning off their Winter Classic jerseys to raise funds as well.

Anyone wishing to donate to the Denna Laing Foundation can visit www.dennalaing.org.
