Daily Talker: No Please Or Thank You In The Classroom

No please or thank you. Teachers in several North Carolina schools are no longer using those phrases. It's called No Nonsense Nurturing. The goal is to improve student behavior and create a better learning environment by clearly telling children what's expected of them. That means instead of saying "please sit down," the teacher will say, "When I say go, it's level zero." That tells the students not to make any noise when they begin their next activity. In this program, students are expected to follow instructions. They are only praised when they exceed expectations and go above and beyond. What do you think of this method? Is it too harsh?
