Police Search For Suspect In Foxborough Jewelry Store Robbery

FOXBOROUGH (CBS) -- Police are searching for a man they say carried out an unarmed robbery of Cindi's Diamond & Jewelry on Central Street.

Foxborough Police said the suspect is about 5'9" and 185 lbs., and is driving a white Acura MDX. They tweeted a photo of the suspect taken from surveillance footage of the incident.

Cindi Haddad-Drew of Cindi's Diamond & Jewelry said on the store's Facebook page last night that the man had come in around 5:13 p.m. and stolen a 2 carat loose diamond. She said he had been in the store earlier browsing engagement rings, and that he was wearing jeans, Nike shoes, a tan tweed scally cap, and navy blue shirt at the time.

Haddad-Drew said in the Facebook post that it was the first time the store had been robbed.

"We have been a small thriving business in the center of town for 24 years without any such incident, and have supported the community in countless ways," she wrote. "We are grateful to our committed and loyal customers, and my team and I will continue to serve Foxboro and the surrounding towns with our same level of service and dedication to your jewelry."

"Additionally, our surveillance cameras have provided a positive identification for law enforcement, and they are actively in pursuit of the suspect."
