Police: Drunk Driver Struck Weymouth Police Cruiser

WEYMOUTH (CBS) -- A Weymouth woman was arrested early Sunday morning after police say she crashed head-on into a Weymouth Police Department cruiser, injuring herself, a passenger, and an officer.

Kaylin E. Kaiser, 25, was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, failure to yield, and operating to endanger after the crash, which occurred around 12:45 a.m. on Main Street in Weymouth.

Police said Kaiser was travelling northbound on Main Street in a Toyota Corolla when she drove across the center line and struck the cruiser head-on. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and were towed from the scene of the collision. Weymouth firefighters used the Jaws of Life to get the male passenger out of the Corolla.

Kaiser, her male passenger, and the officer in the cruiser were all transported to South Shore Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the officer and passenger have been released.

Kaiser is scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court Monday.
