Maine Woman Indicted On Charges Of Running Over Quincy Teacher

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — A Maine woman accused of running over a Massachusetts teacher in August has been indicted on charges of manslaughter, drunken driving, reckless conduct and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police say 22-year-old Carolyn J. Lee of York was driving an SUV that hit Emily Zarnoch, of Quincy, Massachusetts, as she walked hand-in-hand with her boyfriend around midnight in York.

Lee's lawyer, John Webb, didn't immediately return a call Thursday seeking comment about the indictment, which was handed up a day earlier.

The 24-year-old Zarnoch, who died the following morning, was a month away from starting a new job as a middle school teacher.
