16 Displaced By Dorchester 4-Alarm House Fire
BOSTON (CBS) -- Firefighters battled a four-alarm fire at a three-family house in Dorchester on Saturday night.
The call came in at 5:43 p.m. at the Alpha Road home.
Multiple searches have been done at the scene, and no one was found hurt, according to the Boston Fire Twitter account.
The fire was knocked down in about an hour, fire officials say.
The fire chief estimates $750,000 in damage. Fire officials say 10 adults and six children have been displaced, and the American Red Cross is on scene helping out the affected families.
Fire investigators have ruled the blaze accidental, saying it started in a front room on the first floor after a flammable liquid came into contact with a lit candle.
