2 Bodies Found In Parked Car In Maine; 1 Victim Called 911

MANCHESTER, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police say two people were found dead in a parked car Christmas morning and the deaths are suspicious.

Police say one of the victims called 911 around 3:30 a.m. Friday from an isolated dirt road near a number of sand and gravel pits in Manchester. Officers responded and found the man and woman dead.

Police did not release their names but said they were both in their 20s. Autopsies will be conducted to determine how they died.

The Kennebec Journal reports that Lt. Jeffrey Love, of the state police major crimes unit, said the man was in the driver's seat, the woman in the passenger seat. Love would not say who made the 911 call.

"It's too early to draw any conclusions," he said. "We have called it a suspicious death at this point, but we need to gather more information."

He did not say whether or not the police were looking for any suspects.
