Weymouth Woman Arrested After Multi-Town Police Chase

QUINCY (CBS) -- Police say a Weymouth woman led police on a multi-town pursuit Tuesday night that ended with her ramming a Hingham cruiser that was attempting to block her in.

Cherylann Kelley, 43, was arrested on charges of OUI liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for a police officer, assault and battery with both a bottle and a motor vehicle, and other motor vehicle charges.

Cohasset police responded to reports of a woman acting strange in the parking lot of the Mobile Mart Gas Station on King Street in Cohasset around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. A cellphone caller reported that the woman came up to his vehicle, opened the door, and threw a bottle at him. She took off in a 2008 Hyundai sedan when police arrived.

Hingham Police joined the chase it entered the town of Hingham, as did Quincy Police once it passed into Quincy over the Fore River Bridge. At the intersection of Washington Street and McGrath Highway in Quincy, officers were able to pull the driver out of her car and take her into custody after she rammed a Hingham police cruiser.

Kelley is expected to be arraigned Wednesday.
