Chelsea Police, Salvation Army Team Up To Give Kids Christmas Gifts
CHELSEA (CBS) - Santa's pretty busy these days but he did find time to visit the Chelsea Police station Tuesday night.
About 100 kids and their families got a chance to meet the big guy himself at an event made possible by Chelsea Police and the Salvation Army.
It brought a lot of happiness to the children and it was also just the thing for families trying to make ends meet.
"It means a lot to me," one mother said. "Especially to make my kids happy and some people you know we work hard and sometimes there's not enough money to buy gifts."
And the kids were thrilled, one girl saying, "I wanted to open up presents so bad and I'm glad to meet Santa because I've never seen him before."
The party was a big success and it's quickly becoming a holiday tradition in Chelsea.
