David Pastrnak Assigned To Providence Bruins
BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Bruins have been racking up points in recent weeks, and the team could now be closer to adding another piece to its roster.
David Pastrnak, the team's promising 19-year-old forward, has been assigned to the Providence Bruins for Saturday night's game as he attempts to come back from injury. He joins the team on a "conditioning loan," according to a statement released by the team Saturday night.
Pastrnak has not played since Oct. 23 when he suffered a small fracture in his foot.
Head coach Claude Julien said the team does not have any plans for Pastrnak beyond Saturday's game.
It's possible that Pastrnak could play in Europe for the Czech Republic World Junior team in the tournament that lasts into early January.
Pastrnak could also remain in the AHL to continue his rehabilitation, or if he looks strong enough he could return to the Bruins.
But Julien said those decisions will not be made until Pastrnak sees his first game action on Saturday.
In another roster move, Alex Khokhlachev was reassigned to Providence.
