Patriots Clinch AFC East As Dolphins Lose To Giants

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots are AFC East champions once again.

With the Miami Dolphins losing to the New York Giants 31-24 on Monday Night Football, New England clinched their seventh straight AFC East title. That ties the Patriots with the 1973-79 Rams for the most consecutive division titles.

Overall, it's the Patriots' 13th division crown in the last 15 seasons.

The 11-2 Patriots are the AFC's No. 1 seed and are on the fast track towards clinching a first-round bye over the next three weeks. They will likely secure one of the AFC's top two seeds with a pair of wins over the final three weeks of the season.
