Kevin Garnett Posterizes Blake Griffin, And Paul Pierce's Reaction Is Priceless

By Brian Robb, CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- Kevin Garnett may be well past his prime at age 39, but don't try telling that to Blake Griffin.

Griffin is known for his monster dunks, but the All-Star power forward was the victim of one in the third quarter of the Clippers-Timberwolves contest on Monday night.

It all started when Garnett ran the floor hard on the fast break after a steal by Ricky Rubio. The crafty point guard then set up Garnett for a sensational slam over Griffin at the rim.

The former Celtic rightfully talked some trash to Griffin after the throwdown, which earned him a technical foul.

While Garnett's teammates were fired up after the veteran's dunk, the most entertaining reaction came from Paul Pierce, who was sitting on the Clippers bench and had to withhold his excitement for his good friend and former teammate.

Garnett's former coach Doc Rivers also got a close look at the jam from the Clippers bench. Incredibly, it was the first dunk by the Big Ticket in a Timberwolves uniform since the 2006-07 season, after which he was traded to Boston.

"Seeing KG in practice, I know he has the ability to dunk still," Wolves No. 1 pick Karl-Anthony Towns told reporters in Minnesota after the game. "But I just saw him taking steps like he was going to dunk. I didn't know if he was going to dunk or shoot a floater. He surprised me, too."

Even though the Wolves eventually lost the game, expect this poster to be available soon at stores everywhere.
