Swansea Police: Marine Takes Own Life After Disturbance

SWANSEA, Mass. (AP) — Police say a 24-year-old former Marine has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he allegedly fired a rifle inside his ex-girlfriend's house during a domestic disturbance in southeastern Massachusetts.

Police say an armed Brandon Leonardo went to a Swansea home at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday and threatened his former girlfriend.

He allegedly aimed the gun at two men who attempted to settle the situation before firing a round above their heads and fleeing.

Neighbors were told to shelter-in-place until the gunman was found dead at his home on Nichols Street.

No one was injured, but there was some minor property damage.

Prosecutors say foul play is not suspected and there is no ongoing criminal investigation.
