2 Killed In Route 101 Crash In Wilton, NH

WILTON, N.H. (CBS) -- Two people were killed in a two-car crash on Route 101 in Wilton, New Hampshire on Saturday.

Wilton Police and firefighters were called to the crash shortly before 4:30 p.m. Milford Police, New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and State Police were also called to the scene.

Witnesses told police a car traveling east crossed the center line and struck another car traveling in the opposite direction nearly head-on.

Police say both of the drivers involved in the crash were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims have not been identified by police.

The section of Route 101 from Wilton Road in Milford to Island Street in Wilton was shut down for several hours, police say.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
