Shopping Centers Ramp Up Black Friday Security

WRENTHAM (CBS) -- America is still on alter after the Paris attacks and ongoing ISIS threats. There is no specific new threat, but police are keeping a close eye on "soft targets," including local malls like the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets.

"We've added police officers we've added some officers with long rifles we've added plain clothes officers trained in behavioral observation and we've added canine explosive dogs," Wrentham police chief William McGrath told WBZ-TV.

Margaret Hill, a shopper visiting from England, found the increased police force to be "strange."

"I do think its strange and crazy but then most things that are strange and crazy probably come from the US and we'll probably take on to it as well in Europe as well so yeah its different something different," Hill said.

But shoppers do seem to welcome the beefed up security, and they are also determined not to let the increased threat level from recent terror attacks spoil the occasion.

"We should not be bullied and we're not gonna let terrorists bully us," shopper Donna Fennessey said.
