Patient's Hair Catches Fire During Surgery At Cape Cod Hospital

HYANNIS (CBS) -- A patient's hair caught fire during surgery at Cape Cod hospital Monday evening.

The hospital says a "heat generating piece of equipment" is to blame for the incident. Hospital staff members quickly extinguished the fire.

The Hyannis Fire Department was called to the hospital as a precautionary measure, a hospital spokesperson said.

The extent of the patient's injuries is unclear.
