FBI Searches For Clues In Manchester, NH Murder Mystery

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- Federal investigators were seen combing the streets and residential yards in a Manchester, NH, neighborhood Thursday where a woman was shot to death in August.

Police blocked off parts of Ray and Carpenter Streets, adjacent to the spot where Denise Robert, 62, was murdered on August 30 while out for a routine evening walk near her home.

"Hopefully it's one more bit of information on top of what they have, and at some point everything will make sense," Tom Robert told WBZ-TV.

The area had been previously searched by investigators. Thursday's renewed evidence search efforts are not a result of new leads or evidence in the case, a spokesperson in the NH Attorney General's office told WBZ-TV.

"She was a very nice lady," Bob Hamel said of Robert.

Hamel knew Robert for 35 years. She sold him advertisements in the local paper. He watched from the street as investigators turned nearby lawns in grids, flagging for evidence and occasionally digging into residents' yards.

"Hopefully they find something and get out of here. It's a quiet neighborhood and we'd like to keep it that way if we can," Hamel said.

The Attorney General's office hasn't received as many strong tips since the start of the investigation months ago. No suspects have been named.
