BOSTON (CBS) – The Patriots were in the national spotlight for Thursday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins. But before the game it was a group of New England students who were front and center.

Students from Boston Latin, Rollinsford, N.H. and Cranston, R.I., were included in a pregame show segment that gave the young fans a chance to tell millions of people why it's so great to be a New England sports fan.

"We are very fortunate to be born New Englanders because we have the best sports fan base," one student said.

"It's been great. They just keep on winning," another added.

Not surprisingly, the students are big fans of Tom Brady, with one girl saying the quarterback is "my entire life."

The topic of DeflateGate was broached, but the students called it a "setup" and a "big waste of time."

One of the students channeled his inner Bill Belichick when asked for his thoughts on the subject, saying "We're on to the next question."

The Patriots cruised past the Dolphins in Thursday's game, 36-7, to improve to 7-0 on the season.
