Arrest Made In July Andover Home Invasion

ANDOVER (CBS) -- Police have arrested a homeless man in connection to a home invasion in Andover that occurred in July.

Peter Bardzik, 53, faces multiple charges including kidnapping, home invasion, and larceny.

Police say Bardzik, who previously lived in Lynn and Everett, broke into the home on North Main Street in broad daylight and tied up a 16-year-old girl.

The teenage girl said the suspect told her, "I need you to stay calm."

"He just said 'cash' and then struggled for a bit. They struggled and eventually he got her hands duct taped," the victim's father told WBZ-TV at the time.

The suspect tied her to a kitchen chair, duct taping her ankles and mouth.

The teenager's mother and brother soon returned home and Bardzik allegedly ran out the front door and broke into another home in town on the same day.

Bardzik, a level three sex offender, is already being held on unrelated charges.
