Pembroke Woman Hit In Head With BB Gun Pellet While Driving

HANOVER (CBS) - Laura Sweezey of Pembroke was minding her own business, driving on Route 139 in Hanover. That's when her car window was suddenly shattered by a pellet from a BB gun.

"Suddenly there was a big bang really loud," she said. "And my head stung and I looked beside me and my window was shattered."

It wasn't just her car, Laura says she was also hit in the head.

"It took a minute for me to realize that I had been shot and so I just pulled over called police. Luckily where I pulled over there happened to be four firefighters working on remodeling a house and they helped tape up the window," Sweezey said.

Laura was not the only one. Police in neighboring Norwell say last weekend at least three different businesses including a bank were hit by BB or pellet gun fire. A large window was shot out in a nearby pizza shop, but despite the damage in those incidents nobody was hurt. Laura Sweezey can't say the same thing.

She says, "People should know and if people have children with BB guns they need to make sure that they're not out doing something like this obviously."

Laura's head is sore, but she has no serious injuries. The police are investigating the incident.
