Plane Towing 'Clintons -- Patriots -- O.J.' Banner Circles Gillette Stadium Prior To Game Vs. Jets

BOSTON (CBS) -- The New York Jets have themselves a pretty good football team this season. They also have some pretty aggressive fans when it comes to flying banners in Foxboro.
On Sunday morning, prior to the Patriots' home game against the Jets, three planes circled the stadium. Two of the planes towed banners which were advertisements, but the other one towed a plain text banner. It read:
"Clintons - Patriots - O.J."
Presumably, the banner was paid for by a Jets fan, and it wouldn't be the first time this year. In August, the owners of Twitter account @JetsFanMedia flew a "Cheaters Look Up!" banner above Patriots practice. It drew plenty of attention, in a DeflateGate-filled summer.
There's no word yet on who paid for this flight, but it's obviously an attempt to lump the Patriots in with some famous perceived liars. Bill Clinton had his little impeachment trial back in 1999, Hilary Clinton's emails remain the subject of much debate, and O.J. Simpson ... well, everybody knows the O.J. story.
Needless to say, that first banner didn't really do much to rattle the Patriots. And Sunday's flight probably wasn't even seen by anyone on the team. Its biggest impact will likely just be a bunch of folks taking pictures and posting them on Twitter.
It looks like Tom Brady doesn't quite have the power he purported to have with regard to the grounding of jets on his Facebook page this weekend.
But hey, it's keeping Jets fans busy. And that's what counts.
