Watertown High School Field Hockey Breaks National Record
WATERTOWN (CBS) – The Watertown High School field hockey team is officially in the record books.
With a 6-0 victory over Melrose on Wednesday, the Raiders earned their 154th straight win.
Wednesday's win broke the national high school record for consecutive wins previously held by Eastern High School of Voorhees, New Jersey.
Following the victory, the scoreboard lit up to honor the occasion with "154" and "New Nat'l HS Record" displayed.
The Watertown win streak has gone on for so long that several current players were only 11 years old when it began.
