Missing Maine Woman Spotted In Westford Contacts Police

WESTFORD (CBS) – A missing woman from Maine who was spotted in Westford told police she and her son are safe.

Investigators said Sarah Walker-Meade's car was last seen on Power Road near the Nashoba Valley Ski Area around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A driver called police to report an erratic driver.  The license plate matched Walker-Meade's car.

Walker-Meade, 33, had been reported missing from Brunswick, Maine, by her parents on Tuesday, possibly "against her own free will," according to Westford Police, who did not elaborate on that.

She was believed to be travelling with her 5-year-old son, though it was not clear why she may be in the area.

Just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Brunswick Police said they had been in touch with Walker-Meade. She told police she had gone on an unannounced trip with a former boyfriend.

Brunswick Police said their nationwide alert to be on the lookout for Walker-Meade and her son will remain active until an officer sees her in person.
