Report: Injuries To Sheard, Cannon Deemed Minor

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots got out of Indy with a win on Sunday night, but the game wasn't without its losses, as the Patriots lost three players to injury.

The good news on Monday is that at least two of them aren't expected to be serious.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the Jabaal Sheard ankle injury and the Marcus Cannon toe injury are not considered serious.

There's been no word yet on the other injured Patriots player, special teamer Matthew Slater, but he was seen being carted through the tunnels of Lucas Oil Stadium after the game Sunday night.

Cannon's night ended early on Sunday after hurting his left toe on the Patriots' opening offensive series. He remained on the sideline for a time but eventually made his way to the locker room.

Sheard likewise left the game and he was deemed "questionable" to return. However he was eventually downgraded to "out." Sheard has 12 tackles and four sacks on the year, his first in New England.

The Patriots were already without linebacker Dont'a Hightower, who missed Sunday's game with a rib injury, as well as left tackle Nate Solder, who was placed on season-ending IR for a torn biceps.

The Patriots next play Sunday afternoon against the Jets before a quick turnaround for a Thursday night game against the Dolphins.
