Flying Scrap Metal Impales Car Windshield On Route 1

SAUGUS (CBS) – It was a close call for a driver on Route 1 south in Saugus early Tuesday morning.

A piece of scrap metal flew off the back of a tractor-trailer and smashed through the windshield of the SUV behind it around 4:45 a.m.

State Police said the SUV driver, a 48-year-old woman, was the only one in the Audi Q5.  She was not hurt.

Troopers are still looking for the truck.
