Concord Police Issue 'Good Behavior Citations'

CONCORD (CBS) - Chief Joseph O'Connor and the Concord Police Department have begun issuing citations for good behavior.

Thanks to a donation from Wade Rubinstein, owner of the Concord dessert cafe Reasons to be Cheerful, recipients of the citations will receive two scoops of ice cream.

"Reasons to be Cheerful and Wade Rubinstein are committed to making a positive difference in our community and we are appreciative that they have partnered with us," Chief O'Connor said. "This unique and lighthearted initiative fits perfectly with our department's goal to provide exceptional service all of the time."

Wearing bicycle helmets, holding a parent's hand while crossing the street, wearing a seat belt, yielding to pedestrians in a crosswalk, looking both ways before crossing the street, or crossing at a crosswalk with the walk sign could land you a citation.

Up to 200 people will receive the good behavior citations. The Concord Police Departments hopes this initiative will be a good way to connect with the community.
