Westford's Nashoba Valley Transforms Into Witch's Woods

WESTFORD (CBS) – This week we went to Nashoba Valley Ski Area. Not to ski, but to be scared at Witch's Woods, a huge park filled with several haunted houses, and almost 200 characters ready to scare you.

Nightmare mansion is the first place we explored.

The theme, "Victorian Slaughter House" is pretty obvious as you walk through the rooms.

Characters dressed with gore and fake blood jump out of seemingly nowhere.  It doesn't seem to matter if you are the first one in, or the last one in your group. Everyone gets a good scare.

The park has a great layout of several haunts to visit.  But don't let your guard down because characters surprise guests outside of the haunted houses too.

Jack-O'-lantern Jamboree and Horrorwood Chamber of Chills are set up as you make your way to the Haunted Hayride.

Closer to the main ski lodge, at this time a decorated Halloween themed restaurant, other haunts are set up around the carnival.

Castle Morbid is a castle with zombies inside. There is even a 3D experience in Keeper's Crypt. Guests have to wear 3D glasses to get through and escape a Mad Doll Maker in a Doll Factory.

The main attraction is the Haunted Hayride with a new theme this season, "The Demon's Plague".

Each wagon gets a narrator, who actually gives a story the entire trip, but also acts as the cue for the characters hiding in the woods.

"This is a great park. They strive very hard to balance between scaring the pants off you and letting you have a good time. It's a very family-friendly park" says Bob Amici AKA Lord Bob, the Haunted Hayride Narrator Manager.

The Haunted Hayride lasts 17 minutes, the longest in New England.
