Chuck E. Cheese Reportedly Adding More Beer, Wine To Menu

IRVING, Texas (CBS) -- Chuck E. Cheese is reportedly revamping its menu to attract a wider audience to its kid-friendly locations, and adding to its beer and wine list is part of the strategy.

In an interview with Bloomberg, a Chuck E. Cheese executive says he's trying to cater to "millennial moms."

"Her kids know it's a fun place to go, but millennial moms want to provide that great experience without sacrificing for themselves," said Greg Casale, the chef in charge at Chuck E. Cheese's parent company. "Before she was a mom, she was going to places like Panera and those concepts. She wants something that fits into her millennial lifestyle."

Menu changes include a new-and-improved pizza, which Chuck E. Cheese claims outperformed Pizza Hut in a taste test, and a better salad bar.

Bloomberg also says the chain will be "expanding its list of beer and wine."

"We want to protect and enhance what we do for children, but wildly improve what we do for adults," Chuck E. Cheese CEO Tom Leverton told Bloomberg.

The current menu on chuckecheese.com says a regular-sized beer sells for $2.99, while wine goes for $4.99 per serving.

There are 11 Chuck E. Cheese locations in Massachusetts.
