Hurricane Joaquin Staying Away; Improving Weather In Sight

BOSTON (CBS) -- Finally, some sunshine in the forecast!  Though the clouds rule the forecast for most today, the bursts of sun become more common in the next few days.

Today we have a mix of weather.  Along the coast, some drizzle at times with mostly cloudy skies & a strong northeast wind between 15 and 25 mph. Inland will be partly sunny and breezy.  High temps will be in the low to mid 50s all across the board.

Tonight we expect mostly clear skies outside the 495 loop, so temps fall into the upper 30s and lower 40s. Along the coast, mid to upper 40s, breezy, with areas of drizzle and a mostly cloudy sky.

Monday we expect more sunshine but still some pesky clouds and drizzle near the coast in the morning.  Highs around 60.

Tuesday and Wednesday look glorious! Mostly sunny, warming into the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Hurricane Joaquin: The storm is still a category 3, but will decrease in intensity later today as it moves northeast.  The eye will pass just west of Bermuda.  The island has a hurricane warning in effect as the storm will bring 3-5" of rain through tonight, and a large storm surge.

Here in New England, we will have pretty low impact.  High surf and beach erosion is likely Monday into Tuesday, but no flooding, no rain, and no wind from the storm as is passes hundreds of miles out to sea.
