Moose Runs Wild Through Streets Of Worcester

WORCESTER (CBS) - It was a moment Aaron Stephenson won't ever forget and lucky for him, he caught it on camera.

"I looked down and lo and behold there was an adolescent moose coming my way and it passed five inches in front of me," Stephenson said.

In fact, the moose came so close, it looked like it ran into him before running off into the woods by Aaron's home. But, it's where the moose lives, that's so surprising. This moose is running wild in the city of Worcester.

Police tracked him Friday as he strolled through neighborhoods, by the WPI campus, the athletic fields, by busy roads and lots of traffic.

People here are now on the hunt to see it..

One resident tells us, "It's very exciting, a moose loose in Worcester." While another person tell us, "I haven't seen the moose!"

But this isn't the first time a moose has been on the loose. A few years ago, a moose was roaming and people here won't soon forget it.

"It was running around the whole neighborhood here," one resident said. "It actually broke down our fence going into our yard and our dogs were going crazy!"

Animal control spent the day in hot pursuit, but this country moose is not done touring the city just yet.
