Still Believe In Conspiracy Theories? Tom Brady Won An NFL Award And Fans Should Be Satisfied

BOSTON (CBS) -- So much for those anti-Brady conspiracy theories.

The NFL named Tom Brady AFC Offensive Player of the Month for September, capping a blistering 3-0 start to the season in which Brady completed 72 percent of his passes for 1,112 yards, 9 touchdowns and no interceptions.

It's the first time Brady has won the honor since October 2014, when TB12 went on a similar prove-everyone-wrong tear after the national media practically buried his career. It's the eighth time Brady has won the award in his career.

This should silence conspiracy theorists and satisfy fans who felt the league may have been slighting Brady by snubbing him in peculiar tweets and giving weekly individual awards to less deserving players.

Frankly, Patriots fans should not care this much (if at all) about individual awards, especially ones that get handed out 17 times a year. But if you wanted Brady to get his due for the red-hot Patriots' Scorched Earth Tour 2.0, this should make you happy.

Stephen Gostkowski also won AFC Special Teams Player of the Month. Gostkowski was a perfect 7-for-7 in field goal attempts, 14-for-14 in extra points, and zero tears shed over kicking longer PATs.
