Tom Brady: Focus Has Always Been On Football

BOSTON (CBS) -- Even when a four-game suspension was staring him down ahead of the new season, Tom Brady's focus was always on the game he loves.

During the eight month DeflateGate saga that consumed the Patriots and Brady's offseason, there were times when it looked like the All Pro quarterback wouldn't be leading his team onto the field when the defending Super Bowl champs began the 2015 season. But a federal judge threw out Roger Goodell's suspension a week before the new season, allowing Brady to suit up for the and lead the Patriots to three straight wins to start the new campaign.

Brady, on a bit of a revenge tour, has ripped opposing defenses to shreds, completing 72 percent of his passes and tossing nine touchdowns without throwing an interception.

Now the Patriots sit 3-0 as they enjoy their early-season bye week. Brady sat down with 98.5 The Sports Hub's Scott Zolak for Friday's edition of Patriots All Access on WBZ-TV, and in his first 1-on-1 interview since all the DeflateGate drama unfolded, the Pats QB said he always kept his focus on the field.

"There is nothing like running out onto the field with my teammates. That's what my focus has always been on," Brady told Zolak. "To have the fortune to be able to do that the last three weeks has been awesome. I did it in the preseason and I've been able to do it the last month, which is great.

"It's what I love to do. I've always just thought about football," continued Brady, now in his 16th season under center for the Patriots. "It's been a love of mine the last 25 years, whether it was touch football in the street or flag football at school or finally when I started playing tackle football in high school. There's nothing I love more than being out on the field with my teammates."

Catch the rest of Scott Zolak's 1-on-1 with Tom Brady Friday night on Patriots All Access at 7pm on WBZ-TV!
