Gold Stars, Penalty Flags: Brady, Blount Shine In Rout Of Jaguars

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots head into their bye week at 3-0 for the ninth time in team history following a 51-17 rout of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It was a great game for the Patriots, who put points on the board nine of the 10 times they touched the ball. The one time they didn't score was at the end of the game, when Jimmy Garoppolo came in to take a knee.

Here are the Gold Stars and Penalty Flags from Sunday's drubbing of the Jags:

Gold Stars

- Tom Brady gets a gold star and this one was easy. Brady became only the fourth member of the 400 club and he did it without missing a beat. He hit Danny Amendola with an eight-yard strike for the milestone. The best part of the whole day was after the game in the locker room, when Brady's teammates spoke so highly of him. It made me realize that he may also be the best leader in football. His teammates will (and have) run through walls for No. 12 and that will never change.

- LeGarrette Blount gets a gold star. The back got his first real run of the season and he made it count with 18 carries for 78 yards and three touchdowns. The change from Dion Lewis to Blount will make the Pats a tough team. It was nice to see Blount out there and handling his business.

- Stephen Gostkowski gets a gold star. Stephen doesn't have attempts, he just makes field goals and he's been doing it for a long time. He's also made 425 straight extra points for a new NFL record. That point after is so easy to take for granted but Gostkowski doesn't. He is a weapon for the Pats and around the league, other teams know it.

Penalty Flags

I have one big penalty flag and it belongs to the Jacksonville Jaguars. How could you not stop the Pats once???   The Patriots never punted on Sunday and that is inexcusable. What defensive was Jacksonville practicing all week??? They never gave their team a chance at all. They were not going to beat the Pats, but they needed to be competitive. They were not.
