Winthrop Woman Allegedly Causes Multiple Crashes, Drives Away

ARLINGTON (CBS) -- Police have a arrested a woman they say drove away from two separate crashes in Arlington that injured multiple people, including children inside her car.

The first crash happened on Warren and Wyman Street. Police say 35-year-old Lillian Claudio, of Winthrop, was driving the sedan that hit an SUV head on. The 33-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle and faces life-threatening injuries.

Police say Claudio sped off onto Wyman Street and blew through a stop sign, slamming into another SUV. The driver and passenger of the SUV were treated for injuries. Claudio then tried to drive away but smashed into a parked pickup truck. No one was inside.

Five other people were in Claudio's car, including two children.  All were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Claudio faces multiple charges including child endangerment while operating under the influence, and leaving the scene of property damage.

She is being held on $10,040 and will be arraigned on Monday.
