NightSide - Worcester High Schools Ban Hoodies

BOSTON (CBS) - The Worcester Telegram & Gazette has reported that two Worcester high schools have officially banned hooded sweatshirts over potential safety issues. The decision was made at the recommendation of police, and done in response to an increase in youth crime this past summer. But with the decision being announced only two days before school began, and with many students not finding out about the policy until the first day of class, do you think the restriction is fair? Tracy O'Connell Novick, a member of the Worcester School Committee, sits down to talk about her concerns with this decision and how it came about. Do you think it is acceptable for a school to ban hoodies? Should administrators focus on dress codes, or is student attire a distraction from more important matters?
